Offshore wind farms

Offshore wind farms are particularly suitable for local ownership, typically by a local wind turbine cooperative, or by a local energy company or in combined ownership between a cooperative and a local energy company.

Hans Bjerregaard has led the development and establishment of the Samsø (Paludan Flak) Offshore Wind Farm in 2003. He has also served as the project manager for the planning and obtaining of environmental approval in 2013 for the Mejlflak Offshore Wind Farm in the Bay of Aarhus. Additionally, he has taken on the role of technical project manager in the development of Bornholm's offshore wind proposal for a wind farm off Nexø in 2023. His involvement also includes the initiation of the Middelgrunden Offshore Wind Farm and contributions to obtaining the initial planning permission for the Lillebælt South Offshore Wind Farm.
